Description: A unique opportunity for the right person, it was built 6 years ago with the fishermen in mind. Set up as two separate buildings the main house was designed to accommodate a small family, and the apartment was designed to give first class accommodations for small groups of anglers. The two homes share a common swimming pool where you will find a small waterfall pleasantly gurgling down the rocks. The homes open up to an unobstructed view of a lush, tropical jungle setting. A well maintained garden area affords ample privacy between the main house and apartment. The location is both quiet and private, where the only sounds you hear are the monkeys, birds, squirrels and bubbling water. The main house has a spacious living and dining area that flows inward from the patio overlooking the jungle and pool to the open kitchen area. Closed off from this is the family room. Leading off of the family room are two bedrooms and a bath, and the master bedroom with its own bath, walk in closet and outside private porch. Also situated off the family room is a large room with its own entrance that could be utilized as an office, pantry, storage area etc... All the ceilings are done with Guanacaste hard wood; the main living area has a 22 ft ceiling, while the family room boasts 24ft ceilings with ventilation, creating a very open and spacious atmosphere. Located below the house is a two room bedroom with bathroom/shower. This is currently being used as an office and spare room for friends, but could easily be turned into a caretaker’s quarters. There is a covered parking area with ample room for two cars, and a large locked storage area. All of the bedrooms and office have A/C. The front patio overlooking the pool is an ideal social area, with overhead fans creating a comfortable breeze. The apartment was done in the same tradition as the main house and is completely self contained. There are three levels, the bottom level opens up to the pool and a private patio has a dining area, living area, and kitchen and is fully air conditioned. The middle floor which is at ground level, has two separate bedrooms, complete with twin queen beds, tiled bathroom, cable T.V, A/C, phones, closet, desk space, and drawer space. The top level opens up to a private balcony, an ideal place to star gaze or have an evening cocktail. . All three levels are joined by a beautiful spiraling staircase, done in wrought iron and a local hard wood, very reminiscent of rosewood. Both houses are fully fenced in and each building has its own driveway. The whole arrangement could have appeal for someone with a large family looking for a quiet friendly place to live . It would be very convenient for the serious offshore fisherman and friends who want to be walking distance from their boat each morning. With less than an hour run to the fishing grounds, the savings are big on fuel and engine wear. You WILL have more shots at marlin in this area than any other area in Costa Rica during our peak season. Most obviously it would be ideal for someone wishing to live in one of the most unspoiled areas of Costa Rica and make a little income from a bed and breakfast, or a combination (family, fisherperson, and entrepreneur) of the above. This propertie is located within a five minute walking distance to the boats, beach, hotels, restaurants and stores. Nestled at the end of a cul de sac, there is also privacy, affording a very secure feeling, and no noises from the main two lane road, located 300 meters away.. Situated in an area that many consider one of the most prolific marlin fishing areas in the world, Puerto Carrillo is a small unobtrusive community that has been playing host to some of the most well renown sport fishing boats in the world, since its discovery as a billfish destination over 15 years ago. The tiny town boasts several hotels, fine restaurants, stores, a small airstrip with daily service to San Jose, and one of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica. The tiny harbor affords protection to a handful of charter and private boats that are here on permanent bases. During the high season there have been as many as 25 boats anchored up in the protected bay, some up to 75 ft long or more. Although Puerto Carrillo is located in Guanacaste, the fastest growing area in Costa Rica, this small coastal town has managed to remain relatively unaffected by the surge of growth. The local municipality seems to be making an effort to prevent the uncontrolled growth that has taken place in other beach communities in the country. Progress is inevitable, and in many ways a positive thing, especially if the proper restrictions are enforced December through May is considered peak season for billfish with late December through February the having the most shots at marlin. While we seem to see primarily blues, we also encounter a fair amount of stripes and blacks. We catch billfish year round, but it is during these months that charter and private boats normally based in three different zones converge on this quiet little town.
